I had a conversation with someone close to me regarding self worth. Now I've already touched on the subject of life's value here, but since I focused a bit on children in those last entries I feel the need to elaborate a bit so those of us that are no longer children can get an idea of their own self worth, through my eyes.
In having this conversation earlier I remembered that those of us who seek to prove ourselves the most actually have the greatest fears regarding their own self worth, hence the reason as to why they feel the need to prove themselves to such a degree. The truth is an amazing thing in that it is literally the only thing that exists and cannot be destroyed. Sure one can pull a smoke screen up to hide the truth, but try as you might the truth will always be the truth. The truth is that YOU and everyone else were created by the very same infinitely intelligent infallible God. God does not make mistakes, if you were worth less than anyone else that would imply that God made a mistake in creating you, but he did not as he does not make mistakes.
No one has any need whatsoever to prove themselves, to prove their worth, to prove their right to exist. If someone exists that is all the proof needed that they have a right to exist. You are infinitely valuable, if anyone ever tries to convince you otherwise it is only themselves they hurt for they believe in something that is not true. If someone believes you are worth less or worthless then into ignorance they cast themselves, they can only hurt you if you allow yourself to believe their lies.
In an earlier post I mentioned CEOs and that we do not 'need' them. With this post I feel I should clarify my stance here as I stand by that statement, but it might seem as though there are conflicting views. How can everyone have a right, nay, a need to exist yet we need not the CEO? The truth is that we do not need CEOs because the CEO does not exist, we need the person, the human being that plays the role of CEO every bit as much as we need everybody else, but the role of CEO is a work of fiction. We might as well call the role of CEO elf or pixie, they are all nothing more than a set of words on paper, but the human being that plays the role is real and need only realize that they have absolutely no need to prove themselves, their worth to society. You, call yourself CEO, president, doctor, scientist, janitor, teacher, or anything else are needed and for the love of God do not let anyone ever convince you otherwise.
So go ahead and let the nay sayers nay, fools they make themselves to be. I need you... We need you so please... Be you!
