Statistically speaking there tends to be quite a bit more crime in the lower class than in the middle class. What I find particularly interesting though is that in times of economic distress the crime rate, including violent crime, goes up drastically. What this shows is that as people lose their jobs and move into the lower class they turn to crime, but it also shows that criminal activity has less to do with the type of person and more to do with the amount of money they have.
As it turns out money has more to do with crime than people do.
