I recently had a conversation with someone about a comedian who this other person believed crossed the line with one of his jokes. I wont get into detail, but I felt that if this particular comedian crossed any lines it was most certainly a mistake and, of course, we all make mistakes. I'm quite sure this comedian didn't mean to hurt anyone and, especially with comedy, it's easy to cross a line when everyone has a different opinion on where exactly the line is.
The truth is we cannot expect that someone will never cross a line or make a mistake, it's in-human to never make a mistake. Knowing that I make mistakes from time to time how can I expect anyone to forgive me for my mistakes if I will not forgive them for theirs? How can I forgive myself for my mistakes if I cannot forgive others for theirs?
We all make mistakes, the hope is that we learn from them, but even if not I still forgive you for yours and hope that when the time comes, and it will, you will forgive me for mine.
