I believe people should be allowed to make whatever choice they like, be it a child or an abortion. At the same time I find that human life is infinitely valuable to society. Perhaps the problem is not that a person is able to choose abortion, but why they want to choose abortion. I feel that if society did not support rules that in many cases dooms a person to a life of poverty and/or ridicule for having a child then there would be little to no reason for a person to choose abortion.
A well known politician once said that it takes a village to raise a child. I actually agree with that, but on a larger scale. I believe it takes the entire human race to raise a child. Now I don't feel that everyone would be directly involved in the raising of every child, everything everyone does contributes to the raising of a child, but only if everything everyone does is available for that child and those that raise that child, which is everyone. People do a lot of useful things today, but they refuse to GIVE others access to the things they do. Society makes it so that poor parents must work 3 jobs just to make ends meet, causing the child to lose their parents. With no one else to turn to, since no one is willing to help raise the child, the child will grow without the guidance of an experienced adult.
People today seem to think they deserve immediate payment for their work, but I think that sentiment is a bit short sighted. If society were to share with each other free of charge I think people will find that they receive far more in return than money could ever quantify.
